Ruth is a singer blessed with a fantastic voice. She delivers a fresh, inspired and memorable performance on every engagement. Ruth developed her voice as a youngster through singing in choirs. She eventually went on to front a series of cabaret bands, of which one, embarked on a European tour. Ruth is now focused on performing locally in a variety of settings while her voice and stage presence continue to out-shine many of her contemporaries.
Arty is a unique musician having achieved success as a classical musician and then later as a rock musician. He studied 'Cello and Double Bass at Chetham's School of Music and upon returning to his native Newcastle he gained a licentiate to the Trinity College in London. Arty naturally gravitated towards the lighter music forms and joined a ceilidh band as a guitarist. Creativity then took hold when Arty formed an original band releasing an album on Happy Rock Records. Since then he has been involved with various musical projects in the North East including the celebrated Ruth and the Gladstones.
Si is a self-taught musician and bass guitarist who over many years has developed an individual style which under-pins the rhythm section of this exciting band.

John is by far the most experienced member, forming for the band a concrete rhythmic base. He has worked with many of the top North East acts such as, The Blues Burglars, John Whitehill, The Kingsnakes and The Poor Boys.
